About us
History
Pastors Tyrone and Kisha Nash had been laboring in the vineyard for years under different Pastors from childhood. God gave the vision of the ministry years ago. First to him whom God showed the vision of people hurting and wandering aimlessly without direction. He then spoke to Pastor Tyrone’s heart and gave him the name Chosen to Evangelize Ministries and the scripture Mark 16:15. Pastor Tyrone didn’t want to act too quickly and found himself in conversation with his Pastor in 2006 whom God used to speak into his life. To Pastor Tyrone he said it’s your time now to move on but, he still waited.
They found themselves at another ministry laboring and given the charge over several different ministries within the church just as was done at the other church. His new Pastor then spoke to him after years of laboring under him “you are a Pastor he said”. He said this to him on several occasions and began instructing in Pastoral affairs. Pastor Tyrone still was unsure if it was time to act. God then spoke to Pastor Kisha and she then spoke to Pastor Tyrone and said I feel we are not being obedient to God, it’s time for us to move on. Finally, through much prayer God gave a vision of the church. He showed the vision of the church to another Pastor confirmed the vision God gave him. It was spot on. Pastor Tyrone and Pastor Kisha started having bible study in their home when the members started seeking counsel and God spoke this is the ministry I have placed in your care. Quickly it changed from bible study to full services. On June 1, 2013 Chosen to Evangelize Ministries was born. On July 28, 2013 they were ordained as Pastors.
The church started meeting in their home, the church has been moved to the Gateway Center on the campus of the University of North Texas. It's current location operating at the Aubrey Area Library.
What We Believe -Articles of Faith
1. We believe the Holy Bible as the inspired Word of God, without any error, the all-sufficient authority in matters of faith, doctrine, and Christian living.
2. We believe in one God, eternally existing in three Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
3. We believe in the Virgin Birth of Jesus Christ, and that He is true God and man. He died on the cross for our sins. He rose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven where He sits at the right hand of the Father and is now our High Priest and Advocate.
4. We believe that man was created in the image of God but fell into sin and therefore lost. Only through regeneration by the work of the Holy Spirit can man's salvation and spiritual life be obtained.
5. We believe that eternal salvation is the free gift of God only through Jesus Christ, entirely apart from man's works, and is possessed by any and all who have faith in and receive Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.
6. We believe in a regenerated church membership: that is, persons old enough to understand their need for Jesus Christ and, of their own free will, accepted Him as their personal Lord and Savior.
7. We believe that baptism is by immersion and the Lord's Supper is a memorial to His suffering and death on the cross. These are ordinances to be observed by the church in its present age. They are, however, not to be regarded as means for man's salvation.
8. We believe in the personal, bodily, imminent, and glorious return of the Lord Jesus Christ and that His Second Coming inspires believers for dynamic and zealous life and service for Him while waiting for His return.
9. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead, the everlasting blessedness of the saved in heaven, and the everlasting punishment and separation from God of the unsaved in hell.
10. We believe in the autonomy of the local church. The church shall manage its own affairs and shall not be subject to any other religious body or organization
The purposes of Chosen to Evangelize Ministries, Inc. are:
1. To worship and serve God and to fulfill the Great Commission of Jesus Christ as set forth in Matthew 28:19-20 and Mark 16:15.
2. To minister to the needs of the members and others as the church is able to do so.
3. To do any and all things related to and in connection with the carrying out of the object and purpose herein above set forth.
The church mission statement comes from Mark 16:15; this is our charge which means going to different locations to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ and fill the needs of the community.
